Door Frame Restoration

Story
The client had been quoted nearly DKK 20,000 to replace the entire door frame because its base had rotted. That’s a common answer: full replacement is faster for large companies, but it also means paying to discard 95% of a frame that’s still perfectly sound.
At Fixera I follow a repair-first approach whenever it’s safe and makes sense. It’s usually more affordable, less wasteful, and just as strong. After reviewing the photos, I confirmed that this frame could indeed be saved.
I carefully removed every bit of rotten wood until I reached solid timber, sealed the exposed areas against moisture, fabricated a custom insert, fixed it securely, filled and sanded the surface, and finished with an exterior-grade paint system made for Danish weather.
The result: a sturdy, aligned frame with clean lines, proper protection, and a far smaller bill than full replacement.
